The cryptic crossword solver runs entirely inside your browser. The clues you type, the letter patterns you enter and the answers the tool returns never leave your device: there is no server to send them to.

We do not operate user accounts, we do not sell data, and we do not store personal information about visitors.

When you use the solver, an English dictionary is downloaded to your browser and every search runs locally against it. No clue text, pattern or result is transmitted anywhere.

The solver saves your recent searches in your browser's local storage so you can return to them. This data stays on your device, is readable only by this site, and is never transmitted to us.

Your light or dark theme preference is stored the same way.

• Clear recent searches at any time with the “Clear” control in the solver.
• Clearing your browser's site data removes both the search history and the theme preference.

If analytics are enabled on this site, they are configured to anonymise IP addresses and are used only to understand which guides people find useful. No analytics provider receives anything you type into the solver.

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. The preferences described above use local storage rather than cookies.

If you use the contact form, it opens your own email application with the message pre-filled, nothing is submitted through this website. Any email you choose to send reaches us at hello@crypticcrosswordssolver.com and is kept only for as long as it takes to answer you.

The guide links to third-party crossword tools and publications. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them. Every external link on this site opens in a new tab so it is clear when you have left.

This site is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the revision date at the top of the page will change with it. Because the site collects no personal data, material changes are unlikely.
